Oh boy. Just 24 hours ago I wrote, "The kitchen is getting hotter for Giuliani." Today comes news that publishing doyenne Judith Regan of Regan Books is suing Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. for smearing her after she was fired over the controversy surrounding her O.J. Simpson book, "If I Did It."
The most interesting thing in her 70-page filing, according to the New York Times? An unnamed News Corp. exec told her to lie to federal investigators vetting Bernie Kerik about their affair. "Defendants were well aware that Regan had a personal relationship with Kerik," the complaint says. "In fact, a senior executive in the News Corporation organization told Regan that he believed she had information about Kerik that, if disclosed, would harm Giuliani's presidential campaign. This executive advised Regan to lie to, and to withhold information from, investigators concerning Kerik."
No comment yet from News Corp. It's going to be an interesting few months for Giuliani.
