Report: Clinton will release her delegates Wednesday

Hillary Clinton is reportedly expected to tell her pledged delegates they're free to vote for Barack Obama.

On Wednesday, during a meeting in Denver with her pledged delegates, Hillary Clinton will likely tell them they're free to vote for Barack Obama, the Associated Press reports.

Technically speaking, this doesn't mean all that much, as the pledged delegates aren't really pledged to anyone -- even without being released, they could vote for Obama, and if they are released, they can still vote for Clinton. It's just about certain that some will. But this is a traditional thing for the runners-up to do, and it's an important signal to the party that she's not trying to stand in Obama's way.

A spokeswoman for Clinton didn't respond to a message left seeking comment.
