Rod Blagojevich is now the former governor of Illinois. In a result that was pretty much a foregone conclusion, the state senate has just now voted unanimously to remove Blagojevich from office. Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn will now be sworn in to take his place.

Update: In a second vote, also unanimous, the state senate voted to disqualify Blagojevich from ever again holding public office in Illinois.
