Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, spoke to the Washington Independent's David Weigel for an article on conservatives' feelings about South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's affair. And though Norquist is clearly disappointed -- "This is a guy who clearly could have been in the running as a serious presidential candidate with a serious record of cutting taxes and cutting spending," he told Weigel -- he has managed to keep a sense of humor about it, saying:
It does indicate that men who oppose federal spending at the local level are irresistible to women.
