The fight over healthcare will probably take up quite a bit of the administration's political capital, but according to one Democratic congressman, President Obama won't give it up.
Rep. Leonard Boswell, D-Iowa, told a local radio station recently about a conversation the two men had back in February. Boswell says the president told him "he's willing to be a one-term president if that's what it takes to get healthcare and energy reform."
Boswell quoted Obama as saying, "I'm not going to kick the can down the road .... If it makes me a one-term president, I'm going to, we're going to take it on because the country is in need of us taking this on."
