Colbert on the Tea Partiers fighting “social engineering” of school integration

Stephen Colbert’s “The Word” segment last night took a look at Tea Partiers in Wake County, North Carolina, where they’re demanding an end to government-mandated school integration. The county introduced the policies 35 years ago. Since then,e reports suggest that students in the poorest sections of the county have received the best educationsand the overwhelming majority of parents are satisfied; “clearly a tragic triumph of government intervention,” Colbert deadpanned.
