PLATTE CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri man charged with killing a co-worker with a hatchet and disemboweling another woman with a razor has been arraigned on first-degree murder and other charges.

Quintin P. O'Dell is a 22-year-old Eagle Scout from Platte City who is accused of hacking to death Alissa Faye Shippert. Shippert was found slain last spring in a state conservation area where she had been fishing. The two worked together at an area convenience store.

A Platte County circuit court judge entered not guilty pleas Monday on O'Dell's behalf.

O'Dell is jailed in Platte County on a $750,000 cash-only bond. He is requesting a public defender.
