NEW YORK (AP) — A law enforcement official says the woman accusing a son of the New York City police commissioner of sexual assault told authorities she got pregnant and had an abortion.
A person with knowledge of the investigation says the woman told police Tuesday of the Oct. 8 encounter with Greg Kelly.
She says the two met for drinks and went back to her law office. The person says she claims she was not capable of consenting to sex.
Neither the person nor the official were authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Kelly has said through his attorney that he is cooperating with the investigation and denies wrongdoing of any kind.
The case was quickly turned over to the Manhattan district attorney's office because of a conflict of interest.
