BEIJING (AP) — At least 10 people have been killed and three others are missing after a blast at a steel plant in northeastern China.
The state-run Xinhua News Agency says that the blast late Monday night in Anshan city in Liaoning province also injured 17 people. It said Tuesday that the cause of the accident at the steel-casting plant is not known yet.
Rapid economic growth and lax safety measures mean that industrial accidents are relatively common in China.
