Two disc jockeys who made a prank call pretending to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles won't be returning to their jobs for a while.
That word comes from their employer, Australian radio station 2DayFM, after a nurse who fell victim to the hoax was found dead. It says the two won't return to the station until further notice.
Nurse Jacintha Saldanha answered the prank call at the London hospital where Prince William's pregnant wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, was being treated for morning sickness. The hospital says Saldanha transferred the call to another nurse, who was recorded telling the phony royals that the duchess hadn't been "retching" and was "sleeping on and off."
Saldanha was found dead early today at apartments affiliated with the hospital, where she worked for four years. A coroner will determine how she died. Police say they found nothing supicious.
The hospital says "everyone is shocked by the loss."
St. James's Palace, the office of the duchess and Prince William, also expressed sadness.
