Recent news that Lindsay Lohan will guest-star as herself Charlie Sheen's patient-turned-love-interest on his FX show, "Anger Management," has raised some eyebrows: Sheen's career, like Lohan's, has been turbulent at best, spotted with alcohol and drug abuse and legal issues (the two of them have, at various points, have been among the least insurable in Hollywood).
Now, Sheen has commented on the nature of their relationship. He told TMZ that he sees her as a mentor, saying, "I have a kinship with somebody [Lindsay] who clearly needs a mentor, whether she wants one or not. She can continue to hang out with her dress shredding club buddies, or turn to me for some advice from a guy who's been down the road as well as every other side trail on the journey."
"If she listens, she'll win. If she doesn't, that's on her," he explained. It's not clear how he plans to mentor her, exactly, but the two are co-starring in "Scary Movie 5" and Sheen recently helped Lohan pay her back taxes with a $100,000 loan.
And despite their on-film romance, he says the relationship is strictly platonic. "I love her, I respect her, and I've never laid a finger on her that wasn't on film. How ya like me now, America?"
