An armed 16-year-old was shot dead by undercover cops in Brooklyn Saturday night. The Gothamist reported that "according to police, Kimani Gray was shot multiple times in the leg and stomach when he pointed a .357 revolver at the cops in East Flatbush."
Witnesses -- friends of Gray -- described a chaotic scene to reporters:
"The cops, they just jumped out of the car so fast," Devonte Brown, 16, told the Daily News. "They started shooting him and he went down.”
“We were just hanging out,” said Devonte’s brother, Akeem Brown. “We didn’t know he had a gun.”
As Gothamist noted, "the officers fired upon Gray at least six times; Gray didn't fire any shots."
