Ted Cruz open to impeaching Obama: It's a "good question"

The reason not to do it, he tells a meeting of upstate New York Republicans, is a lack of votes

At a meeting of Republicans in New York, Ted Cruz was asked why the GOP doesn't impeach Obama. "Good question," he replied.

Cruz was attending a meeting of the Montgomery County GOP on Monday, and according to Katrina Trinko of the National Review, was asked: "Why don’t we impeach him [Obama]?”

"It’s a good question,” Cruz replied, “and I’ll tell you the simplest answer: To successfully impeach a president you need the votes in the U.S. Senate.”

He continued: “I think we should focus on fights that would make a difference, restoring economic growth and opportunity and fights that we have a realistic prospect of winning," but impeaching Obama is “not a fight we have a prospect of winning."
