Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is reportedly "completely devastated" by the sudden death of his longtime girlfriend, fashion designer and model L'Wren Scott, who was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on Monday. The death is thought to be a suicide. Scott was 49.
On Tuesday, Jagger posted the following tribute to Scott on his website, underneath a black-and-white photo of her:
I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.
We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.
She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
I will never forget her,
Mick
The band has also canceled the first concert in its Australia tour, which was supposed to kick off on Wednesday. According to their site, "No further information is available at this time, ticketholders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available." As of now, the rest of the tour will continue as scheduled.
