"The Drop" features James Gandolfini in his last performance

Beloved "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini, who died in June, will appear on the big screen for the last time in "The Drop."

Gandolfini stars as Marv, the tough, well-respected owner of a bar that also serves as a money drop location for neighborhood gangsters. Tom Hardy plays Marv's cousin, Bob Saginowski, an ex-con who tends the bar. Bob struggles to lead a normal life with his girlfriend (Noomi Rapace) when he finds himself at the center of a botched robbery.

The crime thriller is based on a short story by Dennis Lehane, who also wrote the books "Shutter Island," and "Mystic River," both of which were adapted to film.

"The Drop" is due in theaters Sept. 19. Watch the trailer below:
