Cosmopolitan: a beacon of light for those seeking strange and potentially dangerous sex advice, but only in heterosexual relationships. Well, not anymore. In an effort to stay progressive and promote LGBT equality (perhaps), the notorious women's magazine is finally offering sex tips that have nothing to do with penises but double to do with female pleasure. Finally, Cosmo is reaching out to lesbians.
In a new piece titled "28 Mind-Blowing Lesbian Sex Positions," Cosmo.com has offerings for "lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, queers -- all the lady-loving ladies in the crowd!" Positions such as the "Laconic Lounger," the "Breast Enhancement," and the "Passionate Pole Dancer" are rated with <3's for difficulty and feature fun illustrated diagrams to show readers what they should be doing. Or, rather, what they should consider doing if they're feeling up to the task.
The tips follow several notable changes in Cosmo's editorial tone, which has expanded to focus more on queer content. Pieces emphasizing transgender rights and "14 Things You Should Never Say to a Gay Man" have become increasingly common at the magazine. It's nice to see Cosmo is reaching out to lesbians, too -- assuming nobody gets hurt performing the "Rockin' Rockette."
