On Sunday, John Oliver introduced footage of adorable dogs dressed up as Supreme Court Justices. Oliver dubbed the footage "Real Animals Fake Paws," and hoped that news organizations would use the cute pups paired with audio from Supreme Court arguments to galvanize interest in the important decisions being made by one of our three branches of government.
An enterprising YouTube user answered Oliver's call with "Hobby Lobby vs Obamacare Sebelius #RealAnimalsFakePaws."
In March of 2014 the Supreme Court heard arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. and Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp. v. Sebelius. The outcome of this case, or Hobby Lobby decision, has wide repercussions whether you use contraception or not.
The decision deems that closely held corporations can have "sincerely held religious beliefs" and can be exempt from the Affordable Care Act mandate to provide contraception. Here are the arguments reenacted by the pups, via YouTube user ibmeruu:
