Bernie Sanders schools Stephen Colbert: "Hopefully we frighten the billionaire class"

Colbert on whether Sen. Sanders will run for president: "I only have 15 more shows, if you want the 'Colbert Bump'"

On Monday night, Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared on "The Colbert Report," to loud cheers and applause. Colbert, in conservative blowhard character, teases the senator for being the only socialist in Congress, calling him the "boogeyman of Washington."

"Do you frighten people when you walk around the Capitol?" Colbert asked.

"Well, hopefully, hopefully we frighten the billionaire class," Sanders said. "Hopefully, hopefully we frighten the insurance companies, because we are the only major country on Earth that doesn't have a healthcare system guaranteeing healthcare to all people."

In the second half of the interview, Colbert pops the question: Are you running for president?

"Sir, I only have 15 more shows, if you want the 'Colbert Bump,'" Colbert jokes. "Are you ready to declare tonight for the good people?"

"The news is that I am thinking about running for president," Sanders said. Watch below:
