On Sunday, Jessica Williams broke many hearts by announcing via Twitter that she would not be replacing Jon Stewart as host of "The Daily Show." Numerous media sites hoped she would, a poll on Mediaite has her at number one, and "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" even predicted her eventual host-ship in 2025.
The 25-year-old comedian explained herself with a series of tweets:

I respect Williams' tweets about the job. Only Williams can speak to her feelings about readiness to host, or make the decision that hosting "The Daily Show" is in fact her dream, and not the collective Internet's desires for her.
However, I can't help but hope that Williams knows that the pinnacle of political-comedy qualification does not necessarily have to be a middle-aged male, and many would love a space to hear her particular (25-year-old) voice.
