NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie and his wife reported nearly $1 million in income last year.
Tax returns released by the New Jersey governor's office Friday show the Christies made $970,161 in 2014, thanks largely to his wife's former high-paying Wall Street job.
The income is a significant jump from 2013, when they reported $698,838.
Christie's wife Mary Pat took a hiatus from her job at Angelo, Gordon & Co. in April before Christie launched his presidential run. She said at the time that she wanted more time with the couple's four kids.
The governor makes a salary of $175,000 a year. The couple also made money from blind trusts in their names. The 88 pages of tax documents were filed following a six-month extension.
