"Late Night" host Seth Meyers on Tuesday took "A Closer Look" at Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's recent headline-worthy controversies.
"There are those using this as an opportunity to falsely imply that Donald Trump has actually maintained a much tougher schedule than Hillary Clinton," Meyers said, referring to Clinton's pneumonia diagnosis. "You think Trump's schedule is harder because he talks off the top of his head for an hour and a half? Hillary has to prepare an actual speech. Trump shows up in a hat and windbreaker like a hungover Little League umpire."
Commenting on Clinton's claim that "half" of Donald Trump's supporters constitute a "basket of deplorables," Meyers said, "Was Hillary making a lazy, sweeping generalization? Yes she was." Added Meyers: "Was there a core truth to what she said that we all need to grapple with? Yes, because you can't deny Trump's candidacy has attracted support from white nationalists and their followers, like former-KKK leader David Duke."
