Marion Cotillard guested on Stephen Colbert's "Late Show" on Wednesday to promote her latest movie, "Allied," co-starring Brad Pitt.
Colbert noted that Cotillard and Pitt had a number of sex scenes in the movie. (The two were rumored shortly to have had an affair while shooting, which tabloids connected to Pitt's divorce with Angelina Jolie.)
Asked if it's "ever erotic at all to shoot a sex scene," Cotillard told Colbert to "imagine you're with your wife in bed ... and then all those people are watching. ... Do you still find it sexy?"
"But it's a beautiful love scene," she later amended, referring to a scene set in a parked car in the middle of a sandstorm.
During a press conference at the New York premier, Cotillard shared details about the "awkward" nature of shooting sex scenes, but was elusive regarding any chemistry with Pitt.
"It’s an awkward situation," she said at the Wednesday screening. "We laughed because ... this is so weird. ... And then we go into this, and then I’m going on top of you, and then we are going to kiss."
