More than 700 cities staged protests in the United States on Saturday, the latest acts of dissent against the Donald Trump administration.

Demonstrating against the separation of families along the Mexican border, hundreds of thousands of protestors assembled to show solidarity. From Minneapolis and Chicago to Anchorage and Ashville, people turned out to express contempt for Trump and his cruel immigration policies.

And they brought signs.

Images from the protests indicate a mass turnout from "the resistance." Many political commentators have questioned the vitality of the anti-Trump movement. Saturday only proved that the left remains energized.

Here are some of the best pictures of the "Families Belong Together" protests.

It's hard to argue that these demonstrations are ineffective. Trump has already reversed course from his original zero-tolerance policy that required the separation of migrant children from their parents. As the Trump administration continues to implement hardline policies, it appears they will have to deal with the resistance at the same time.
