Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart joined Stephen Colbert on the Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday pretending that he’s been sitting under the host’s desk since the last appearance.
Colbert began his show by explaining that the show wasn’t actually being filmed on Tuesday, because they are still on the holiday break. Instead, they decided to invite celebrity friends to interview him.
“I’m strangely nervous,” Colbert told Stewart, who took over the host’s desk.
“Ok,” Stewart said, looking at the cards. “Who the f*ck do you think you are?” He explained that he decided to make up his own first question.
The two joked about an incident where Rev. Al Sharpton decided not to show for a “Daily Show” interview. Colbert did a stand-in and answered all of the questions as if he was Sharpton. The clincher, however, was that Colbert had a ticket to the premiere of The Lord of the Rings.
Of course, the conversation turned to President Donald Trump.
“A lot of people have nicknames for Donald Trump, but you have the greatest nickname of all-time,” Colbert noted. “Would you care to share it with the audience?”
“I refer to him as F*ckface von Clownstick,” Stewart replied. “I say this — affectionately, always affectionately.”
“Do you miss at all having a show that deals with these kinds of jokes now that he’s president of the United States?” Colbert asked. “Like, that would be nice to take a couple of swipes here and there.”
“You and I both famously know, we were turd miners, we toiled in the turd mines,” Stewart replied. “So working at ‘The Daily Show’ I felt as though I was toiling in the turd mines.”
“And then I finally quit and a giant turd asteroid heads towards the planet,” he explained.
