Former 2016 Donald Trump campaign staffer Michael Caputo has begun raising money for longtime Trump advisor Roger Stone’s legal defense fund.
“My old friend Roger Stone has been under fire for two years, as FBI and Congressional investigators have been picking him apart like starved predators,” Caputo wrote on a GoFundMe page he created.
“Roger has done nothing wrong,” Caputo argued.
“As you know, Roger has encouraged the the (sic) President to run for the White House since 1988! He’s been behind President Trump all the way, all those years. He’s always had his back,” he wrote. “Now, Roger needs you to have his back.”
Caputo claimed Stone’s legal bills will “be well over two million dollars in the end.”
As of publication, the effort has raised $795 total, from 12 donors.
Stone associate Roger Corsi has also struggled to raise money for his legal bills.
