President Donald Trump on Thursday demanded an end to all investigations into his administration.
At 11:45 p.m. Trump started a Twitter thread laying out what he thinks should happen following the public release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
“OK, so after two years of hard work and each party trying their best to make the other party look as bad as possible, it’s time to get back to business,” Trump argued.
“The Mueller report strongly stated that there was no collusion with Russia (of course) and, in fact, they were rebuffed at every turn in attempts to gain access,” Trump inaccurately claimed.
“But now Republicans and Democrats must come together for the good of the American people. No more costly & time-consuming investigations,” Trump demanded.
Instead, Trump believes Democrats should back his border wall, which he’d famously promised would be funded by Mexico.
“Lets (sic) do immigration (border), infrastructure, much lower drug prices & much more – and do it now,” Trump begged.
Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman say Trump’s tweets as a sign his campaign sees him struggling in the polls.
“Internal polling must show him struggling,” Haberman concluded.
