Saks Fifth Avenue in New York can kiss Katha Pollitt's business goodbye. After reading about the sorry spectacle of Playboy bunnies leading big-spending male shoppers around by their drooling tongues in pursuit of holiday gifts and T&A, the Nation writer sent this letter to the store's manager:
"I am writing to express my shock and outrage at Saks Fifth Avenues 'Shop with a Bunny' Day on December 7. To have these half-naked breast implantees taking men around to shop for their wives and other women is an insult to the women whose patronage has made your store prosperous and successful -- to say nothing of the women who work there and had to smile their way through this sexist spectacle, and the women who will be the recipients of Christmas gifts purchased not with love but with a frat-boy leer.
