“Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday tried to spread false information about the Mexican government’s role in aiding the migrant caravan heading toward the United States — but he got called out by Border Patrol agent Manuel Padilla, Jr. for spreading fake news.
During an interview with Padilla, who serves as the Rio Grande Valley Sector’s chief patrol agent, Kilmeade tried to get Padilla to badmouth Mexico for allegedly enabling the caravan’s travels north toward the U.S. border.
“How outrageous is it that Mexico is providing trucks and transportation [to the caravan]?” Kilmeade asked.
However, Padilla refused to take the bait.
“We are working with Mexico, we are talking to Mexico,” he said. “Some of the things you see on TV or the news, some of it may be happening, but I can tell you that the communications with Mexico continue.”
Despite this, Kilmeade maintained that he was still furious, even though his own guest had just contradicted his claims.
“Right, but what are they doing?” Kilmeade asked. “They’re helping them get here quicker! It’s outrageous.”
