Congressman Jamie Raskin, D-Maryland, shared new details about the January 6th committee's public hearings on Salon.com's video show "Salon Talks." "It's gonna be later in the spring, April or May more likely," Rep. Raskin told Salon's Dean Obeidallah on January 27. Raskin called the hearings "the most important hearings in American history… up there with the Watergate Hearings."
Raskin said his vision for the hearings is not episodic. Rather, they would take place one after another, in some form, and aim to tell a story. The congressman added that most of the people who have been called to testify have cooperated, with the exception of Donald Trump's circle. "When you get right to that kind of bullseye core right around Donald Trump and his inner most confidants, people think they're somehow above the law and can just give the finger to the US Congress," Rep. Raskin said.
