Andrew Yang says policies like Medicare for All and lower drug pricing, while popular with the public, can't go forward because the current system doesn't incentivize compromise in policy-building for lawmakers. "The tough thing is, for a very significant body of our legislators, keeping an issue around is more beneficial to them than solving it," Yang told Salon's Dean Obeidallah while discussing his new book "Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy."
