U-God, one of Wu-Tang Clan's founding members, opened up on "Salon Talks" about how he met and befriended RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah and Masta Killa, and formed Wu-Tang Clan. It's been over two decades since he and the eight young rappers emerged onto the scene, he's finally ready to share it all. His new tell-all memoir "Raw: My Journey Into the Wu-Tang," is the first personal account from the Clan. "This is my words," U-God said, challenging the other members to write their own versions.

The need to talk through trauma is a lesson U-God had to learn the hard way, enduring poverty, incarceration, his son getting shot and a struggle with mental health before finding therapy and healing. On "Salon Talks," U-God retold some of the book's most exciting stories and shared his opinions on gun control and America's opioid crisis. He calls opioids the most "lethal" drugs on the planet and said, "As usual people are behind the eight ball when the plague hits, and now, it's a plague."
