Could the secret to leading a more fulfilling life be as simple as living in the moment?

Musician Andrew W.K. joined Salon's Amanda Marcotte to discuss his upcoming album "You're Not Alone," his first collection of new rock songs in over a decade, out March 2. "The party Gods declared it was time," W.K. shared on why he decided to release new and original music after a 12-year hiatus.

W.K. revealed that fans can look forward to the emotional, physical and euphoric power of rock on this album and also opened up about his philosophy on making life a party. "The human spirit needs pure fun, it needs to celebrate the fact that it exists, even in all of the pain and confusion and craziness, we have to hold out hope that life really is worth living and that life is good."
