Musician John Oates says his mustache will always have emotional significance for him. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer talked to Salon's Mary Elizabeth Williams about mental health, working with the men's health organization, Movember, and why shaving off his mustache in 1989 was an emotional choice. "I wanted to be a different person. I felt like the mustache was symbolic of who I was and who I didn't want to be going forward," he said. You can watch the full episode, where Oates talks about his latest single, seeking therapy, and what it's like having total creative freedom after the success of Hall & Oates here: https://www.salon.com/tv/video/2qf4qk
