2020 presidential candidate Jay Inslee's plan for climate change is unique. The governor of Washington is trying to hold the Democratic Party accountable when it comes to combating climate change. Inslee joined Salon's Matthew Rozsa on "Salon Talks" to discuss why he thinks Democrats are "falling short" in regards to keeping our environment safe.
Inslee said, "We need to get down to brass tacks, and found out who's got both the gumption, and the vision, and the willingness to take on the fossil fuel industry and the plan that will actually do it." Despite Inslee's current polling sitting below one percent, he's determined to call our his own party when it comes to aggressively tackling climate change, saying "there's a lot of people who fall short in this." When asked who has fallen short, he replied, "I think all of them to some degree because none of them have offered a plan as I have." Inslee went on to describe his plan to "eliminate fossil fuels in our electrical grid," get "cleaner cars in our showrooms" and "get off coal in 10 years." Inslee says when it comes to climate change, "we got one first place winner and everybody else is tied for second."
