“I will punch back”: Eddie Izzard responds to transphobia and talks US comedy tour
Actor and stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard shares why she started going by the name Suzy, in addition to being called Eddie, and looks back on her comedy career. Izzard gives insight on what it was like being transgender and gender fluid 40 years ago before there were words or conversations about it. And Izzard calls the current political backlash around transgender rights a "pile of lies" spread by right-wing politicians like Donald Trump and Boris Johnson.
Izzard will be stateside for a US stand-up tour in fall 2023 that revisits jokes from 35 years ago.
