"I feel like I never imagined a year in my career where I would get to work more than I am not working," actor Chris Perfetti said on this episode of "Salon Talks." The "Abbott Elementary" star reflected on his busy year shooting the acclaimed ABC comedy and working on his play "King James" at Manhattan Theatre Club.
Perfetti shares why his "Abbott Elementary" character, history teacher Jacob "Mr. C" Hill, is a departure from the "brooding" and "more tragic" roles he has played before. Perfetti also speaks to the "singular talent" that is "Abbott Elementary" creator Quinta Brunson and her team of writers amid the WGA writers strike. "We need to get a little more comfortable with standing up in the way that we are now," he said. "It's unfortunate that we have to do it in this way, but it's an oddly terrifying and beautiful moment, and I hope it's over soon."
