Jill Duggar Dillard tells "Salon Talks" about her memoir "Counting the Cost," in which she grapples with feeling retraumatized by the legal system after details about her brother's abuse were shared publicly, how her father and faith community controlled her, and being tricked into signing contracts that she didn't understand. Duggar Dillard opens up about deciding how she would tell her story in order to take back control of her life and the trauma caused from her upbringing on "19 Kids and Counting" and in the Institute in Basic Life Principles. "I was adamant that I would not tell it in a way that continued to expose very private parts of my story," she told Salon. Now that her memoir is out, Duggar Dillard also shares what her relationship is like with her family and her day-by-day approach to seeing them. "Every day is not easy, and right now is one of those seasons," she said.
