Michael Oher, the NFL player whose life was turned into the 2009 film "The Blind Side," talks to Salon about what the movie gets wrong about his life. Oher, who retired in 2017, tells Salon that the film doesn't accurately show his work ethic or give credit to the accomplishments he made before he met the Tuohy family. Oher also gives fresh perspective to what comes after a career in professional sports with his book, "When Your Back's Against The Wall." Helping younger athletes has become Oher's focus. "You have to reach back out and find the potential, see the kid who wants to do great things that don't have the resources and opportunities and point them in the right directions, and they have to want it for themselves," he said.
