Dan Murphy, an ESPN reporter who won a Peabody Award for his reporting on convicted sex abuser Larry Nassar, describes how the former doctor to Olympian gymnasts, learned to gain trust from athletes and parents and then used that trust as a tool to perpetuate criminal sex behavior. Murphy's book,
"Start by Believing: Larry Nassar's Crimes, the Institutions that Enabled Him, and the Brave Women Who Stopped a Monster," which he co-authored with John Barr, compiles over three years of reporting from interviewing parents of victims for the book. "You're sitting across from parents that were blaming themselves for letting their daughters down and feeling guilty," Murphy said on "Salon Talks."
