Bestselling author Charles Blow is calling for Black Americans to move to Southern states in his new book, "The Devil You Know: A Black Power Manifesto." The New York Times columnist's bold idea is about getting Black people to harness real political power through winning state elections. "You can't wait for white people to evolve into your liberation," Blow told Salon's Dean Obeidallah. "Also, you cannot be completely dependent on the browning of America to deliver your liberation because people make the false assumption that everyone who is not white shares a common sense of values and policy objectives."
Learn more about Blow's plan and the meaning behind it, including why it addresses anti-Blackness and white supremacy, in the full conversation above.
