Jason Tougaw

Jason Tougaw is the author of "The Elusive Brain" and "The One You Get," a memoir about growing up poor in America (winner of the Dzanc Prize for Nonfiction). He writes a regular column for Psychology Today, and he hosts a weekly music show on Radio Catskill. His writing has appeared in Out Magazine, Literary Hub, Electric Literature, The Quivering Pen and Bellevue Literary. He is Director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing & Literary Translation at Queens College and teaches in the Biography and Memoir Program at the CUNY Graduate Center. He’s currently at work on a book titled “Dear Marshall — Eminem’s America."
