To hell with the gold statuettes. We all know why we really watch the Oscars – to groan at Bruce Vilanch's lame joke writing and gape at the gorgeous, the tacky and the perpetually sparkle-heavy, red-carpet-ready ensembles of the stars. This year featured a disappointing lack of swan dresses and bike shorts – and similarly, there were no immediate classics like Renee Zellweger's glorious vintage yellow. But there were still standouts, both for good and evil. And whether the bold and the beautiful won statuettes or not on Oscar night, they are the winners in our own red carpet fashion awards.
