Jo Koy talks about his "Funny is Funny" world tour and his 33-year journey in comedy with Salon's D. Watkins. Koy explains how he got one of his early breaks—performing on stage at Def Jam, how he's always related to Black comedians and why the movie "Easter Sunday" is a "love letter" to his Filipino family. "I love stand-up," Koy said. "I'm good at a coffee house tomorrow night. It doesn't need to be the United Center in April. I can be at the Laugh Factory on Sunset on a Wednesday night with 15 people. I'm extremely happy because this is my passion. This is what I love to do."
