Longtime fan-favorite actress Lori Loughlin, who has been one of America's on-camera sweethearts since her career-making role on the '90s series "Full House," joined "Salon Talks" to discuss her newest film series for Hallmark, a fresh installment of the "Garage Sale Mysteries" movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel, premiering Sunday, August 5, at 9 p.m. ET.

On "Salon Talks," Loughlin discussed her early experiences working on a soap opera at age 17, her first TV job. She told Salon's Alli Joseph the most important lessons she learned in her career were ones of humility, when she saw the lead actor replaced by another actor, within days after he suffered an accident. "I was probably 17, and I thought, 'Don't ever think you can't be replaced, because you can,'" Loughlin told SalonTV. "It was just a lesson that I always took with me, to always be grateful."

Loughlin says she is still most recognized for her work on "Full House," and more recently, "Fuller House" on Netflix. "I think I get a lot of recognition because 'Full House' has been on television for so many years," Loughlin said. "We have fans over generations of all different ages. People feel like they know me, like I'm an old friend."

Now starring on several projects with the Hallmark Channel, Loughlin appears in Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart," a period Western series she adores. Loughlin opens up to SalonTV about how she grew up watching mysteries with her mother, who always carried a mystery novel with her at all times. This made her mom a good sleuth, Loughlin joked. "I tried to sneak out one night, and she caught me red-handed! I thought I made it, my hand was on the door, I was with my cousin one summer, and then my mom was behind us - 'Girls, where are you going?'"
