Bobby Kennedy is still recognized as one of the most transformative figures in U.S. history–– his leadership style, intellect and hunger for change remain unmatched. As we approach the 50th anniversary of his death, there is a chance to get a deeper look into his journey and life in Dawn Porter's new Netflix original documentary series "Bobby Kennedy for President." Porter, who also directed "Gideon's Army," "Spies of Mississippi," and "Trapped" discussed how she created the series with SalonTV's D Watkins, including viewing hundreds of hours of lost footage of RFK. "That impulse to step into things and do what you can to help where you can and we see that over and over with Bobby Kennedy," Porter told Salon. "And that's something I think politicians today can benefit from thinking about."
