Acting superstar Antonio Banderas joined Salon's D. Watkins to discuss one of the most important roles of his career, the prolific artist Pablo Picasso. Banderas proudly portrayed the title role of one of the 20th century's most influential and celebrated artists on the second installment of NatGeo's "Genius" series- "Genius: Picasso," which premiered April 24 on the National Geographic channel. Banderas, who was born in the same Spanish town as Picasso, reflect on his time living in America. "For me, America was, and it still is, you know, in a way, an adventure, a personal, vital adventure, that I had to live for 20 something years," Banderas told Salon. "And I learned very much, for me, to heed the many different type of genres, for example, here, probably, it couldn't have been possible to do that in Spain because Spain is restricted in the budget that they have for movies and all the arts and movies are coming out of Spain, you know?"
