Actress Soleil Moon Frye discusses the reboot of "Punky Brewster," streaming now on Peacock, which picks up over 35 years after the 1980s original NBC show premiered. Moon Frye reprises her role as Punky, now as a single mom with kids and freshly divorced from her husband, played by actor Freddie Prinze Jr. Moon Frye shared that she has wanted to reboot the show for several years.
"I love that it's really about how we can come of age at different stages in our life. I can relate to that so much," she said on "Salon Talks." "I always said, I didn't know where Punky ended and I began because we were truly the same in so many ways."
