It's been over three years since a viral video shot in Central Park depicted a confrontation between a Black birder, Christian Cooper, and a white dog walker, Amy Cooper. Ever since, Christian Cooper has been asked to comment on racism and racial bias. He shares with Salon how he deals with fatigue when it comes to talking about race. "When I start to feel I am sick of talking about this, I do something," he said. "Doing something instead of talking is such a great antidote." Cooper recalls a recent trip to register voters in New York. Now the author of a memoir and host of "Extraordinary Birder" on NatGeo, Cooper explains why voting and politics are important to him, especially as a gay man. "Do what our ancestors shed blood for and vote," he said.
