Chef Claudia Sandoval, the winner of "MasterChef" Season 6, opens up about how her upbringing as a Mexican-American has influenced her culinary journey. Sandoval, who grew up in San Diego but crossed the US-Mexico border often to visit family in Tijuana, shares with Salon how some of her favorite Mexican dishes, from birria tacos to chilaquiles and sopes, are all being made in border towns. In Sandoval's discovery+ show "Taste of Border," she uncovers some of the most delicious and unique foods being served in these often-overlooked border towns. "One thing we can all agree on is the incredible deliciousness and nostalgia of food," Sandoval said.
