Three-time Emmy Award winner Edie Falco opens up on "Salon Talks" about taking on a different type of role than fans might be used to seeing her play on TV. In the CBS series, "Tommy," Falco portrays a former NYPD cop who becomes the first female police chief in Los Angeles. "I was pleased to take the mantle for a show about someone who might be intrinsically good," Falco explains to Salon's D. Watkins. "It just feels like a time when we might need to believe in somebody."
